As per reports in the said publication, the contract stated of paying the actor Rs 30 lakh for his first film, then if the film is hit, he would be paid Rs 60 lakh for his second film and following the success of the second film he would be paid Rs 1 crore for his third film. Now the parameter whether the film is a hit or flop totally depended on the production banner. However, while he was paid Rs 30 lakh for the first film Shuddh Desi Romance, he was paid Rs 1 crore for his second film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. Why was he paid differently to what the contract states remain unclear? Unlike the contract which mentioned he was supposed to be paid 1 crore for the third film with the banner.
His film Paani to be helmed by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur did not take off due to some creative difference between Aditya Chopra and the director, as per a statement given by YRF official. Sushant had given 11 months to the project and had lost out of Ram-Leela, Befikre and many other films due to the same.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film of his career Dil Bechara will be premiered on Disney + Hotstar on July 24, 2020.
