MUMBAI: The coronavirus has led to a major health crisis. All industries have been affected, including entertainment. The cases are on the rise. There has been an increase in cases around India, especially in Maharashtra. More and more people from the industry are testing positive. Recently, Bhumi Pednekar, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and others contracted the virus and are now under quarantine.
Many actors are quarantining at their homes, but some have even been admitted to the hospital. Here is a list.
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar tested positive on April 4 and took to his social media pages and shared the same. The actor wrote, "I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon!"
In his latest post, he informed fans that as a precautionary measure he has been admitted to the hospital.
Amitabh Bachchan
Last year, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan had announced on July 11 that he had tested positive for the virus and has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. The actor, soon after recovering, began shoot for KBC 12.
Abhishek Bachchan
Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan also tested positive, soon after dad Amitabh Bachchan. He was hospitalised too.
Aishwarya Bachchan
Aishwarya and Aaradhya had tested positive for coronavirus on July 12. They were tested after Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek’s COVID-19 test results turned out to be positive.
Bappi Lahiri
Singer and composer Bappi Lahiri has tested positive for the virus. The musician has been admitted to Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai and is being kept under observation.
Aditya Narayan
Singer Aditya Narayan tested positive for coronavirus. "Aditya got himself admitted; it may have been to quarantine himself. He is better now," Udit said.
Daljiet Kaur
Daljiet Kaur was hospitalised after she contracted COVID-19.
"Yes, I have not escaped COVID too. Went through it .. quarantined immediately and had to be admitted in Lilavati hospital. Was there for five days. While my sister flew down from delhi to take care of my son (who was negative n fit touch wood), I was being treated by the COVID WARRIORS," read a part of her post.
