MUMBAI: Bollywood actors Tusshar Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah have teamed up for a whodunit thriller titled Maarrich.
Directed by debutant Dhruv Lather, the movie will show Tusshar don the police uniform while the veteran Naseeruddin Shah will be seen playing a catholic priest.
Announcing his new film in style, Tusshar Kapoor tweeted, "Almost 20 yrs down this wonderful journey of making stories come to life, beginning 2021 with #Maarrich..a departure from my usual style, a film that challenges me to evolve as an actor! Excited to share glimpses, even more excited to share screen space with Naseer Sir after long (sic)".
Conveying his excitement at starting the new year with a project different from what his filmography boasts of, Tusshar also shared both his and Naseeruddin Shah's first look from the film.

Film and television producer Ekta Kapoor also took to Twitter to wish her younger brother the very best for his upcoming feature film.
The title of the movie has been drawn from a character in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. Maarrich was an aide of Raavana who had assisted the king of Lanka in kidnapping Lord Ram's wife, Sita, by pretending to be a golden deer.
Besides acting alongside Shah, Tusshar will also be producing the Dhruv Lather directorial venture. Kapoor was also the producer of the Akshay Kumar starrer horror-comedy Laxmii, which had opened to tepid reviews in November last year.
Tusshar Kapoor, who started his acting career with the box office hit Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, is popular for his comic portrayal of a mute character in the hit Golmaal franchise.
