MUMBAI : Twinkle Khanna has been an integral part of the entertainment industry. While she started off as an actress, she continues to make headlines as an author who is well known for her humor and wit.
Now, Khanna has shared an interesting anecdote where she mentioned about her daughter being demotivated to pursue swimming as she wanted a skin tone as fair as her brother Aarav Kumar.
She mentioned in a popular blog post that tan had become her nemesis. Khanna mentioned that her daughter shared, “‘I want to be the same colour as bhaiya.”
It was then that Khanna gifted her daughter Frida Kahlo’s illustrated biography.
Mexican painter Frida Kahlo is well-known for her unwavering and vividly coloured self-portraits, which tackled a variety of subjects including death, the human body, and identity.
Now that she has read the book, her daughter feels no need to use sunblock.
“White is a light colour, so it gets dirty fast like my T-shirt, brown is darker, so it doesn’t'”, Khanna’s blog read.
Furthermore, Khanna shared the importance of reading. She mentioned that her father, Late Rajesh Khanna, was an avid reader and he started the regime of reading 20 pages a day. Khanna added, “We would underline words we didn’t understand, compete in marking interesting passages and great metaphors, leave comments and questions for each other in the margins.”
She further mentioned that her daughter and she chased each other’s thoughts and ideas on the margins of the printed pages.
