MUMBAI: Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video trailer was unveiled last week, it had a really positive reception. Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri play key roles in this Raaj Shaandilyaa-directed movie. The story is set in the 90s when a couple who films their intimate moments loses the video. The narrative centers on how they'll get their hands on it and how hilarious their tragic situation is, as seen in the trailer.
The director of Dream Girl was asked if his film is based on or influenced by the Hollywood movie Sex Tape during an interview. Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz played the primary leads in the 2014 film.

Raaj Shaandilyaa did clarify that the film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, is not based on a Hollywood film.
He revealed that he received a question on Twitter about whether Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was inspired by Diaz's film. In their movie, Raaj made it clear that there is no sex.
The director was told by one of his writers about a Hollywood movie where a video goes viral on the internet. "The video in our film is made by the couple and they lost the CD because of their negligence," Raaj told the popular news agency. Further in this entertainment news, the director stated that the characters and story in his upcoming movie are different and have nothing to do with Cameron Diaz's movie.
"I’ve not even seen Sex Tape. I didn’t get inspired by it; rather, I got inspired by life and the people around me," said the director. Raaj revealed in the same interview that a sequel is already in the works after the first film concludes. The second part takes place Ten to fifteen years later, when the internet era has just started. "We’ve written the story. We will shoot this film after I make another film," Shaandilyaa revealed.
In the meantime, Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat, Mast Ali, Mukesh Tiwari, Tiku Talsania, Ashwini Kalsekar, and several other actors are featured in the Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. It will be released in theatres on October 11, 2024. It is produced by T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaao Films, and Kathavachak Films. It will clash with Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina.
