Aamir Khan apologises for hurting people's sentiments in PK

Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan expressed his deep regret for all those section of audience who were offended by his blockbuster hit, PK. It may well be remembered that the depiction of Lord Shiva in PK and the imagery of Aamir's alien character chasing him around had offended Hindu fundamentalists and many of them had even filed cases and FIRs against Aamir & co for hurting Hindu sentiments.

While the FIRs and cases were duly dismissed by the court of law, sporadic protests continued in the country. Today at the DVD launch of PK, Aamir said that it pained to see people being offended by what was shown and said through the movie.

Said Aamir, "I would like to apologise and say sorry to all those who felt offended. The film has been loved by the majority. But I am hurt to see and know that some were hurt. Dil Dukhta Hai(it pains my heart). It was never our intention."

The magnanimous Aamir even said sorry for unintentionally hurting people. "I am sorry if i have unknowingly hurt anyone through our films."

Aamir however said that he is not apologising for what was shown in the film because that was something he believed in and will always stand by. "I am not saying sorry for showing what we did in the film. I believe and stand by it. I am still apologising on my own behalf to all those who felt even slightly offended."
