She shared, ‘Papa By Chance was the first show that I had presented to channel to begin with. However, due to something or the other, it used to get delayed and that’s when I started thinking about Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant. Since, I didn’t have the confidence to roll out two shows at a time, Rajni went on-air first and this project took a back seat. Then channel approached me again to revive this project and I decided to give a different spin to it.’

She added, ‘I have been very close to my father and always felt that the bond kids share with their father is very different. My dad is no more with us, so this show is in his honour.’

Talking about the cast, Sonali said, ‘I think the cast is brilliant, and new talent should always be encouraged. Known actors come with lot of baggage and it gets very difficult. We always make different kind of shows, so the requirement is always for fresh faces.’

On asked if Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant will return on the TV screens, she replied, ‘There is a talk of season 2, but let this one settle down properly.’

On her expectations with Papa By Chance, Sonali averred, ‘My duty is to make good shows. Beyond that, there is nothing in my hand. Viewers always complain that there is no variety on TV, so I try to bring in the change to do something different. I can never make a show on supernatural drama, as I won’t be good at it. Be a master in what you are good at.’

We asked Sonali if there is any previous show that she would like to see make a comeback. She replied, ‘I think Kahin Toh Hoga. I really enjoyed watching Sujal and Kashish’s chemistry.’

Since the digital world is growing rapidly, we asked her if she plans to launch a show on the digital platform: ‘We are at a very nascent stage. I think you should understand one medium properly and then jump to another. I don’t want to be a jack of all trades and master of none. When I am really bored with doing TV shows, I will think about the digital space.’

In conclusion, we asked Sonali what keeps her updated without being monotonous and boring. She replied, ‘I think you should hang out with young people. Youngsters speak a different language, so this way, they keep you updated.’
