Kedarnath actor Sushant Singh Rajput CELEBRATED Shivratri this way!

Today is the auspicious day of Mahashivratri and many of our Bollywood actors have begun their morning on a divine note. Sushant Singh Rajput, whose new project is Sonchiriya, too celebrated the holy occasion.

A while ago, the Kedarnath actor shared how he started his day with a lot of positivity.

Take a look here:

Vicky Kaushal to be seen in this movie!

Vicky Kaushal is all set to begin another project which has the potential of taking him to a new level of stardom. After Uri: The Surgical Strikes, Vicky has now been signed on to play freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh in this biopic. The project will be directed by Shoojit Sircar and will go on floors from April. According to the makers, the film will be released in 2019.

"If you look at Vicky's track record, he is taking brave steps and making some really fabulous choices. I wanted an actor who is ready to give his heart and soul to the film. Plus, he is a Punjabi boy and my film is a story of a Punjabi man. So, in many ways, he turned to be the obvious choice," director Shoojit Sircar said.

Sardar Udham Singh was the man who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 massacre. With such a historical story to tell, it will be interesting to see how Vicky and Shoojit would go about this project.

Ranbir Kapoor to play the titular role in Rakesh Sharma biopic!

The much-spoken about biopic on India's first man in space Rakesh Sharma has been in the news for a long time now and for various reasons. From Aamir Khan to Shah Rukh Khan, the project has voyaged to many stars but there is no confirmation on who would play the titular role.

After names like Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao did rounds, Ranbir Kapoor is now being considered to play Rakesh Sharma in his biopic, according to latest reports.

News has it that Ranbir has been approached by the team and soon an official announcement can be expected. This comes after multiple names did rounds for the project including Luka Chuppi actor Kartik Aaryan. While fans have been eagerly waiting to hear an official confirmation, it is not clear yet who would be playing the inspiring role.

Ranbir was last seen in Sanju, which portrayed the life of actor Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Raju Hirani, the film did great business at the box office and put back Ranbir's career on track giving him much required hit. Ranbir is currently working on Brahmastra, which is directed by Ayan Mujherji and also stars his rumoured girlfriend Alia Bhatt. The film is slated to be released in 2019 and the official date is yet to be confirmed by the makers.

It's like a dream come true: Vicky Kaushal on working on this project

The official announcement about the biopic on Sardar Udham Singh is out now and fans of Vicky Kaushal can't stop praising the actor's choices. To be directed by Shoojit Sircar, the project will portray the life of the freedom fighter who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India responsible for the Jalianwala Bagh massacre. The actor seems all kicked about working with Shoojit Sircar who has been on his checklist of dream directors to work with. "It's a surreal feeling because it's like a dream come true as I am finally getting to work with him. I have always been a big admirer of how Shoojit sir looks at his stories. The way he is looking at the character (Udham Singh) and the world is extraordinary as well as beautiful. Plus, it's also a big honour for me that finally, I am going to be directed by him. Honestly, that's something that will take time to sink in," says an elated Vicky.

Starting the year with a bang, Vicky will look to close the year in a similar style with this period action-drama. This biopic will go on shooting floors in April this year and could be released towards the end.

Vicky will also be seen in a horror-thriller which is yet to be officially announced. In an exclusive interview with BollywoodLife, Vicky revealed details about the project. Vicky will also be seen in Karan Johar-directorial Takht which also stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer Malang to release on Valentine’s 2020

Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani have come on-board for Mohit Suri's film titled Malang. A few minutes ago, the Baaghi 2 actress confirmed the same by sharing a picture with the filmmaker, Aditya and Anil Kapoor- Kunal Kemmu- who are a part of the star cast too. Announcing the title of the film, Disha revealed that their multi-starrer revenge drama will release on Valentine's Day 2020.

Take a look at their super-happy pictures below:

Taapsee Pannu said this when Bhumi Pednekar apologised for replacing her!

Taapsee Pannu was supposed to be a part of Juno Chopra's Pati Patni Aur Woh remake; however, the actress was replaced by Bhumi Pednekar at the last minute. In an interview, the Pink actress had called out the makers for being unprofessional. A lot of reports suggested that Kartik Aaryan, the lead hero, was the one behind her ouster from the film.

However, neither Kartik nor Taapsee responded to those rumours. The interesting fact here is that Taapsee and Bhumi soon came onboard for Anurag Kashyap's film, Saand Ki Aankh. Needless to say, the question about the awkwardness between them was bound to pop-up.

And when leading publication asked the same to Taapsee, the actress revealed that it was Bhumi who reached out to sort it out.

Emraan Hashmi says this about Bollywood!

Emraan Hashmi says there are not many producers who are ready to take risks in Bollywood, an industry where stupidity dominates, making it harder for actors to be smart.

The actor says today there are at least a handful people trying to push the envelope, which was not the case earlier.

"It is difficult being a smart actor in Bollywood. Stupidity goes a long way here. The audience is smart but not too many producers and directors take that (risk) and understand that. Now at least we have the new blood coming up with new stuff," Emraan told leading publication.

"Back then, it was just about making escapist films with a star, do what a star is supposed to do and get bums on seats. Right now, the audience wants to see more than that," he added.

Emraan started his career in the mid-2000s, gaining fame for featuring in films which were dubbed bold. The actor eventually shed the "serial kisser" tag with films such as ShanghaiGhanchakkar, and Ek Thi Daayan among others.

The actor says before he turned towards edgier content, he was "stuck" in a zone for a long time.

"Initially you can't voice your concerns because scripts choose you rather than you choosing scripts. When one thing works, they just stretch that to make them work again and again.

"Producers see it as safety net, a cash register. Where the audience is expected not to ask questions. Then I met filmmakers and producers who wanted to challenge me as an actor."

Emraan says, if 2018 is anything to go by, where "pure star-driven films" did not work, a good concept is the need of the hour.

"Because of the influence of the web, the audience knows what they're missing out on here. They won’t lap up any mediocre content. Right now a handful of actors are doing a variety of things.

"The audience doesn't want to see a star-driven vehicle. They want to see another dimension of you, not you wearing the same urban clothes in a foreign location with 50 background dancers."

 It was Manikarnika’s success party

The queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut recently enjoyed huge success with her last flick Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The film which also happens to be her directorial debut entered the Rs 100 crore club and made news all over. Yes, the Queen actress and her words did make headlines for the wrong reasons during and after the release of the period saga but she has decided to leave everything in the past and move onto new ventures. Not just that, she is also in the mood of counting her blessings and celebrations. In fact, last night was all about it. The diva popped the champagne and ringed in the night with her dearest nephew Prithvi, her family and co-stars including Ankita Lokhande. She was dressed the best in traditional attire and her million-dollar smile.

Bollywood films give wonderful message for MahaShivratri 2019

Today it is Mahashivratri and everyone is celebrating the mystical Lord Shiva. He is the ultimate yogi, the master of all arts, a passionate lover and a God without bias. Lord Shiva is that enigma that constantly amazes us. Bollywood too has explored the various shades of the Lord in some of its films. Take a look at some of the memorable ones on the occasion of Mahashivratri...

Shivaay

Bolo Har Har Har...Ajay Devgn's Shivaay was one of the blockbusters of 2016. The actor played the role of a mountaineer who falls in love with a foreign tourist who gives birth to his daughter only to abandon them after a few years. Later, his daughter gets kidnapped by the sex trafficking racket of Bulgaria when she goes to the country to meet her mom. Well, hell breaks loose as Ajay (Shivaay) takes on the racket and finishes off the members one by one. The film was symbolic of Lord Shiva as the destroyer of all evil. Shivaay was first considered as a tad too long but picked up when they edited out 20 minutes. Fabulous cinematography, great action and Ajay's explosive performance made the film stand out.

Kedarnath

Based on the Uttarakhand floods of 2013, Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath was beautiful, evocative and dramatic in the same breath. Sushant Singh Rajput played Mansoor, a porter who represented the selfless, pure and benevolent nature of Lord Shiva. The film got a good opening at the box-office as it was the debut of Sara Ali Khan. Wonderful performances, good music and a captivating climax made it a good watch at the theatres. Sushant said that Mansoor's character is the closest to his heart and fans feel it's one of his finest performances. Mansoor and Mukku's love story is one we'll remember.
