Amit Sareen is back on television with a new look and character that he has not portrayed so far!! He plays Sia’s (Abigail Jain) coach Karanveer in Channel V’s Humse Hai Life, produced by 4 Lions Films. Talking about the role, Amit Sareen in a conversation with Tellychakkar.com says, “This show fell in the space where I have not done anything like this before. This is not a typical saas bahu saga, it is a show based on a mentor and to play the character of a person who makes someone realize their dreams is something special. The mentor gives his experience, time and hard work to other people who don’t mean anything to him/her. And to play a boxing coach is definitely unique. You do not get many soaps related to sports today. The character is multi-dimensional, is full of passion, emotions and I love that aspect about it”. Talking about his personal interest in boxing, Amit tells us, “Let me narrate to you one incident that happened in childhood. After seeing the movie Rocky starring Sylvestor Stallone, I developed the egg eating habit. Rocky used to exercise everyday and used to eat many eggs. I started this habit then and continue to do so even today (smiles). Of course, I have a keen interest in boxing too and this pushed me to accept this role. And when it comes to fitness and keeping my body in shape, I guess it is part of my daily regime. Being an actor, we always have to keep ourselves fit and trim”. Getting back to his character in Humse Hai Life, Amit states, “I am sporting a rugged look for the first time on television. I have always portrayed the softer side of me, and had a boy-next-door or a chocolate boy look. But here, I am this disciplined guy who has a rugged look in both his appearance and in attitude”. Ask Amit whether he would accept to do a bare body sequence and he says, “Well, if the situation demands and the scene is impactful, I would not mind doing it”. All the best to you, Amit..
