The first trailer for Heroine has garnered more than 2 million views since its launch on YouTube. The trailer was launched on 25 July on TV and the internet.
Said director Madhur Bhandarkar, “I am overwhelmed by the great response the promo has got. This is just the beginning.”
Heroine tells the story of Mahi Arora, played by Kapoor, and depicts the highs and lows in an actress's career.

With the tagline “The story of a girl who lives a new life everyday”, the three-minute trailer includes a range of images of Kareena Kapoor, scenes from the song 'Halkat Jawani', and some of the love-making sequences with Arjun Rampal.
Bhandarkar describes Heroine as a career-defining film for Kareena Kapoor.
