MUMBAI: Film stars Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan tied the knot earlier this year. It was a grand wedding with many superstars in the guest list including, Rajnikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, AR Rahman, Suriya, Shah Rukh Khan, and many more. Now much recently, Nayanthara revealed that the couple had become parents to twins through surrogacy. The twins are named Uyir and Ulagham and were born in October. When this was revealed, the internet was shocked and questioned the legitimacy of the surrogacy, as commercial surrogacy was banned by the Government of India since January. Once this news was shared in the open, the Tamil Nadu Government launched an investigation on the same and came to the conclusion that the couple did not break any surrogacy laws. The investigation was headed by a three-member panel appointed by the Health and Welfare department.
The panel submitted their findings on Wednesday, and blamed the hospital for creating confusion. The report revealed that the couple’s family doctor had provided a letter of recommendation in 2020, after which the needed treatment was provided. The private hospital had maintained Nayanthara’s records and the panel came down heavily on it as it mentioned that the records were improperly kept. The department issued a notice to the hospital over the same matter.
Workwise, Nayanthara last worked on Kanmani Rambo Khatija, Godfather and Nizhal. She will be making her Bollywood debut opposite megastar Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming film Jawan.
