Well, movies in Hindi cinema have shown a spectrum of Indian culture, which means that even in terms of music, it has explored various languages and music genres but it’s been a while now that the audience is noticing something which it is not so happy with and that’s the use of Punjabi lyrics in most of the songs. However, it’s not just the use of Punjabi music but specifically the fine line between original and remake of those Punjabi songs.

Songs like ‘Duniya’ and ‘Photo’ from Lukka Chuppi, ‘Angreji Beat’ from Cocktail, ‘Kala Chashma’ from Baar Baar Dekho, ‘Sanu Ek Pal Chain’ from Raid, ‘High Heels Te Nachde’ from Ki & Ka and so many more. In fact recent song, Duur na Karin is also a remake from a Punjabi song ‘Kooch na Kari’ Yes, we have seen a lot of remakes, remixes and ‘inspirations’ in the past, be it of songs, tunes or movies. Some of the fans have a complaint that Punjabi Songs are being overused just for the trend and to make the matters worse, many songs are simply remakes or ‘tailored according to Hindi movies’. Meanwhile, the audience is missing Sufi songs, romantic songs, comedy songs, and even ghazals and that too all in Hindi.

Meanwhile, we cannot deny the fact that these latest tracks are also becoming part of the playlists pretty quickly.
