MUMBAI : Anupam Kher’s association with Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films has truly been iconic in every sense of the word. On the release date of Vijay 69, YRF thanked the veteran actor for his incredible cinematic journey with the studio.
Anupam Kher’s first film with YRF was Vijay (1988) and he has worked closed with the studio for 36 years now. Some of the other landmark films that Anupam Kher and YRF worked together on are : Chandni (1989), Lamhe (1991), Darr (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Mohabbatein (2000), Veer-Zaara (2004), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and now Vijay 69 (2024)!
YRF posted a tribute to all the iconic characters played by Anupam Kher and wrote, “In our eventful 50 year old journey, Anupam Kher ji has been a part of most of our biggest milestone moments. We are grateful for his support, his brilliant talent, his good wishes and advice. It is our honour to celebrate his sparkling 40 year old legacy with Vijay 69, a film that is truly a testament to his spirit and passion for cinema and excellence.”
The company added, “It is a sweet coincidence that Anupam Kher ji’s first film with YRF was Vijay (1988) and 36 years on .. we are saluting his incredible body of work with a film titled Vijay 69.. here’s to many more collaborations … we love you”
