MUMBAI: The Indian entertainment fraternity has been left reeling by the sudden and tragic demise of actress and model Shefali Jariwala, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 42.
Fondly remembered for her unforgettable appearance in the iconic music video Kaanta Laga, Shefali’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the industry and among her countless admirers.
According to early reports, Shefali breathed her last on Tuesday night. While initial speculation suggested a cardiac arrest as the cause of death, the authorities have yet to issue a formal confirmation.

The investigation remains underway, with further clarity expected in the coming days.
As per NDTV, preliminary medical findings indicate her passing may have been the result of low blood pressure, cardiac arrest, and complications linked to a severe gastric condition.
The postmortem examination was conducted at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital and was recorded on video for official documentation. The conclusive medical report is expected by Monday, 30 June.
Mumbai Police, citing early evidence, suspect that self-medication combined with possible food poisoning may have played a role in her death.
Reports suggest that Shefali had consumed stale fried rice while observing a fast and had also been taking anti-ageing injections.
A police official indicated that the death appears to be natural and that no foul play is suspected at this stage as reported by NDTV.
As of now, there has been no official statement from Shefali’s family or management team.
Her loved ones, however, gathered over the weekend to bid her a heartfelt farewell during her final rites, held on Saturday.
