Did You Know 'Thandel' Highlights The Unwavering Efforts Of Sushma Swaraj and her Family? Here's How

Thandel

MUMBAI: Yuvasamrat Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi are gearing up for their big-ticket release, 'Thandel'. The love-action-drama film is based on real events that took place in 2018, where Indian fishermen were held captive by Pakistani forces and were jailed. For the unversed, the Former Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, who was a courageous advocate for Indians abroad, contributed tirelessly in securing the release of 22 fishermen who were held in Pakistan's jail. After the iconic leader passed away, her daughter, Bansuri Swaraj, ensured the return of those 22 fishermen.

Director Chandoo Mondeti is set to bring the incident to the big screens with the upcoming film, 'Thandel'. The film also highlights the unwavering contribution of Sushma Swaraj and her family. 'Thandel' producer, Bunny Vasu, approached Bansuri Swaraj to seek permission to use the name of Sushma Swaraj as well as the real footage of the press conferences. To this, the family wholeheartedly granted them permission along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Upon receiving permission, Bunny Vasu extended gratitude and penned a note saying, "Heartfelt gratitude to @BansuriSwaraj garu for giving us the opportunity to showcase the remarkable work of your mother, the former Central Minister Mrs. @SushmaSwaraj garu, in bringing back the fishermen who were stuck in Pakistani jails in 2017 and 2018 in our #Thandel Your support in granting permission to share the names in our real, hard-hitting story of Raju and Satya means a lot to us.”

'Thandel' stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the protagonists, while Sundip R Ved plays the role of an antagonist. Ever since the trailer released, the netizens extended their heartfelt appreciation and best wishes for the film's big release. Apart from the impressive star cast, the film also carries a spectacular technical crew with National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad at the helm of the music, and Shamdat handling the cinematography. National Award-winning Naveen Nooli is the editor, and Srinagendra Tangala leads the art department. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, 'Thandel' is produced by Bunny Vasu under the banner of Geetha Arts, with Allu Aravind presenting it. The film is set to land in the theatres on February 7 and take the audiences on an adventurous ride of thrill and peak cinema.
