As the engagement day progresses, Mahi asks Rahi to get her hands mehendi, requesting that Prem's name be inscribed.
Rahi concurs in spite of her internal conflict, and Mahi praises the design and declares with pride that Prem's name is now engraved on her hands and heart.
At that moment, Prem shows up and unintentionally bumps into Mahi's chair, touching Rahi's hand and transferring the mehendi to Rahi's flesh.
The tension rises as a result of Mahi's worry brought on by this unexpected encounter.
