I admire the works of Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi, Deepti Naval and Meryl Streep. So watching their work has always inspired me to work better and find new aspects of the character and connect with the audience on an emotional level.

Diya is a well educated, well-read, confident, independent woman, who is very much comfortable in her skin colour despite the fact she has been judged all her life because of her complexion. She ignores the judgements passed on by others and lives her life in her way and has been fighting discrimination.

As an artist, I always start working on the backstory of the character. It’s important to understand the who, what, where, why of the character. I believe that’s what brings flesh and bones to the character.

A lot of this character actually, to be honest, my mom-in-law she's this very dignified lady she's also lost her husband at a young age, has brought up her two sons, beautifully as we all know. And, and I think somewhere I feel, a lot like her, in my character, like my mom-in-law and that dignity and the strength, which, which she carries herself. I'm hoping that I can bring it to my character as well.

As an actor, I would want Armaan to give hope to the people who we are targeting to the people who feel lesser of themselves in society. I feel that Armaan should be the one who lets them know that this is not the end of the world and there is a lot to look forward to, to come out of the shell and feel loved.
