This is really interesting bit of news! Maninee De is all set to be a psychotherapist. Maninee who can now be seen in Sab's Twinkle Beauty Parlour, is already on her way to complete the psychotherapy course from a very famous Delhi institute, Sarthak. "I have always been interested in this. I can understand people and I am always ready to help everyone, and for a very long time I was very captivated by this profession of counseling," say the excited actor. She will soon join hands with an NGO, Ashakiran, in Mumbai and begin working for them. "I will also be working towards the development of children who are associated with this NGO, as education is of utmost importance to me," adds the actor. Way to go Maninee! We are all for people who want to give back something to the society that they are part of! Preeti skeptical about doing TV Preeti Jhangiani whose last film Chand Ke paar Chalo flopped badly is seriously considering the idea of trying her luck on television. The buzz is she was being considered for a lead role in Anuj Saxena's production house Maverick's first soap for which Maverick is planning to make a pilot. Maverick's creative head had approached her father who handles her work. She probably gave it a thought and refused as she still want to continue trying to do films. It seems that TV is fast becoming an attractive career options to actresses who are not getting the desired success in Bollywood but they somewhere are scared to do television because they think once they do TV bollywood won't accept them. Sometime back Nauheed Cyrusi had backed out of Manish Goswami's project. But the lure of television as a safe career option as it pays quite well and regularly is unavoidable. If you have any doubts Preeti go and ask Poonam Dhillon, Bhagyashree, Avinash Wadhavan, Rahul Roy, Mohnish Bahl and Kamal Sadanah who are quite happy doing television. Hussain swears by his wife He may be the heartthrob of millions but for Hussain, it's wifey dear first, and last. The Kumkum star, who makes an appearance on Star One's latest quiz show Heartbeat on Monday night, apparently asked to make the first call to his wife, when he was stuck on a question. Hussain reportedly had the choice of calling any of his friends, colleagues or relatives to seek succour, but preferred to call Tina instead! And when the voice over host (Mohan Kapoor to the uninitiated) asked him if he was confident about his choice, Hussain quipped, "I completely trust my wife!" Now that's what we call blind faith. Let's see if Tina keeps the faith tonight. Liar liar? Stars' antics can sometimes be traced to their craving for publicity. Aamir Ali reportedly was down with gastroenteritis recently, if his claims had in a city tabloid are to be believed. But then we caught a sight of the actor at the premiere of Tom Dick and Harry at Cinemax Andheri on Thursday night, munching on popcorn and spending the entire three hours glued to his seat. Aren't people down with gastro supposed to be resting at home and eating boiled stuff? And can they take the strain of sitting in a theatre seat for three hours? Sometimes, we wonder. Was Sulbha Arya Nimmo's Kanta ben??? The Kanta ben rage seems to have affected televison as well! And who better to get inspired by it, but Ekta Kapoor, who was so taken in by the character in Karan Johar's Kal Ho Na Ho that not only did she cast a character of the same name in Nimmo..., but wanted Sulbha Arya, (the original Ben) to play the part. Bharati Achrekar, who is now playing the Maharasdtrian ben now was signed on when Sulbha Arya couldn't take on the project. "I already had too much on my plate, so I couldn't take it up," says Sulbhaji who is currently doing Yes Boss and will soon be seen as Fatema bi in Twinkle Beauty Parlour. Well, all said and done, Kanta ben lives on in Bharti Achrekar and that should make Sulbha Arya proud enough!
