Zaara will be a family drama woven around a Muslim family with the backdrop of love and passion. "I play a Muslim guy (Samar) for the first time. Samar is traditional in his outlook but also modern in some ways since he has just returned from London. I play a possessive and passionate lover who is in love with Zaara and due to certain circumstances the girl has to marry my cousin brother, " explains Abhay. "The plot unfolds when passion overcomes me to the extent that I create situations for cancelling her engagement by hurting her finger and being the first person to apply mehndi on her wedding. All in all Samar is an emotional, sensitive, flamboyant and a possessive guy," says the down to earth actor who was seen in a double role in Paalkhi. Abhay will not have to speak Urdu on the show. In fact, he gets to comfortably put on a rather classy act in Hindi and English. The actor started shooting ten days back for Zaara which is touted to be a daily primetime show. So, here's one actor whose aspirations to make it to the film industry is complete with playing a lead in many a shows on television.
