TV's glamour and sex sirens are going in for a different act. So far restricted to making Page 3 appearances, they are now set to be marked for a different cause. Two glam couples of the television world will soon come to your screens advocating safe sex with condoms. Casanova Rohit Roy and wifey Manasi 'Kusum' Joshi will be a part of a film to spread awareness and utility of condoms and accompanying them will be another hot couple - Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal. The film is supposed to have a script and a clean one unlike other condom promos and will see the couples actually acting. Wonder if the couples will add their bedroom creativity on screen and make people go wet. "The film has a good script. When I was told about this film, I was looking forward to do it," says Rohit with excitement. "The film shows the relationship between two couples bringing out the importance of a condom in a married life," says Rohit sounding positive. "Condom is the most natural contraceptive. It is extremely essential to have a safe and hygienic intercourse. Given the mounting toll of AIDS patients, I hope this film will make the desired impact," he says hopefully. "Not many people can go to the chemist and ask for a condom. We are still primitive. In fact, in many stores condoms are issued in brown covers. What is there to hide?" he says almost fumingly. "I have always been associated with causes. I am doing Shiksha with Sony, a project for girl child and also another music video with Samir Soni to increase AIDS awareness," says the charming Mandira. "If people start using condoms after watching this movie it will be worth the effort," ends Mandira on a positive note. The project sponsored by USAID aims to popularise usage of condoms amongst Indian males as the first step to preventing HIV. It also seeks to wake up women for their right to be protected from unsafe sex and have a say in the love making act. This is, probably the first time that Indian TV personalities are coming out to endorse use of condom. The film produced by Black Magic Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. will be shot towards the end of this month and will be widely shown across all channels. The little bird chirps that attempts are being made to associate the Zee group in the spread of this social message. The buzz is the also that the celebs will hit the roads for shows in smaller towns of North India like Jallandhar and Ludhaina next month. Wonder why are the sex sirens reversing roles with the docile ones? Are the sex sirens better at expressing social service messages? Wouldn't the Tulsis and Parvatis be more effective in this? Or were they too shy to drive home condoms!
