MUMBAI: Star Plus show Advocate Anjali Awasthi will soon take a generational leap. The male lead of the show, Ankit Raizada will exit the show while Shritama Mitra, the lead actress will continue the show as Anjali's daughter.

TellyChakkar.com has exclusively learned that Ankit Raizada's character Aman Singh Rajput will meet with an accident and die, paving the way for a new male lead to take over post leap.

TellyChakkar contacted Ankit and asked him about his first reaction after learning about his exit from the show, he said, "So, they didn't want me to leave the show. The production house had offered me to continue playing Aman post leap, but I was asked to play a father to a grown up. Being in my late 20's, I don't think I'd be able to pull that off.  I can't play father to a grown-up. Also, I wouldn't be emotionally related to that old character and thus, I decided to quit."

"It was a mixed feeling to bid an adieu to the character that I've nurtured and played so truthfully. Initially, it didn't sink in, however, when I shot for my last day yesterday, I came to terms that it is indeed an end for me as Aman. I saw myself in the mirror yesterday and signed off as Aman Singh Rajput and it did hit me a little that I won't be a part of the show anymore."

When asked about his discussion regarding his exit with Anjali played by Shritama , he said, "We had a mutual discussion regarding the same. We had a great time shooting with each other and she was feeling nostalgic about the good times that we've spent together. She will continue to be a part of this show, thus, I wish her all the best for the new adventurous chapter."

We asked Ankit about what kind of shows he would like to do in the future. He added, "Honestly, I have thought a lot about this (laughs). Firstly, I'd really consider show's with good stories. Also, I'd prefer doing a more male dominated show. I understand that TV is a female oriented medium and shows with strong female characters are preferred, however, I will be keen on doing projects where there is a fine balance between both male and female characters."

Here's wishing Ankit best wishes for his future endeavors.
