Amar Upadhyay has no regrets that he did not win the Bigg Boss finale last season (5). He was one of the top three contenders. “The fact that after I came out of the Karjat house, most people told me that all of them had voted for me and had expected me to win hands down because I did play like a winner and emerged victorious in most tasks, ” Amar observed. Talking about the format, the former Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actor said, “Bigg Boss is a very hard psychological game. The Endemol team deputes 10/12 people to follow each contestant and try to psyche them out through various tasks and food supply control regimes that one literally becomes crazy after three months. I had to live without my phone which I am so addicted to.” So what advice would you give to the new house mates? “Go out and play your game. Last year, I was the only honest guy who openly said that I was doing what I believed in; simplicity. Everyone else was claiming to make friends, but in the true sense, they were not. You can’t make any fresh relationships inside a house unless you already know them from before. Where is the great brother-sister pair of season 5 of Bigg Boss? Where are they now? Are you in touch with any of your house mates? “Yes, I occasionally talk to Laxmi (Narayan Tripathi), Shraddha Sharma and Vida Samadzai.” What about your friend turned foe Siddharth Bhardwaj? “I don’t have his number.” The coming season is supposed to be more family-oriented? “That again depends on the creatives. The last season was quite an aggressive one. My only advice to the new house mates is not to fight just to get your fifteen seconds of fame. But if pushed beyond a point, hit back. The environment is such that after a few days, you tend to forget the ever-active camera.” Amar does not really give much credit to Juhi Parmar, last year’s winner. “The channel alone decides as to who will be eliminated every week and who will finally win. She also hid behind Pooja Bedi and Sky. Had it not been for me, Pooja Bedi would have surely won. I also facilitated the exit of Shakti Kapoor as I wanted to be the only boy in the house then.” Bigg Boss season 6 hits the screens from 7 October 2012!!!
