MUMBAI: Ami Trivedi has been getting much love for her portrayal of Manjari in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH). The trilogy currently at its third installment is getting amazing response. The actor is happy how the new track of the show has clicked well with the masses.

“The story of YRKKH has been full of twists, turns and surprises. And if people have liked the new track they just have to wait more because the storyline ahead is about celebrations and a lot of drama to look out for. I feel privileged to be a part of the show that has been running successfully for 13 years and have been one of the top five shows. It’s such an admirable legacy. The show has also given me the opportunity to perform a character which I've not done before. To be a part of a loving unit it feels like home on the set. This rishta has added much to my personal and professional life,” says the actor, who plays a mother in the show. Actor Harshad Chopda aka Abhimanyu portrays the role of her son.

Rajan Shahi has given a good spin to the story and audiences are enjoying every bit of it, adds Ami. “Watching YRKKH as a viewer feels amazing, so I do have a similar experience like any other viewer. I feel the same anger, love and tears, and you know I want my favourite characters to act in a certain way, make certain decisions. Even though you're an artist,  you are an actor you know what the story is all about, despite that you feel such a strong connect to it that you want the same to happen which all our YRKKH  audience wants,” she shares.

Ami has been garnering a lot of compliments for her performance and she cherishes each one of them. “Every time people say nice things, it feels good, whether it is a comment on my performance or about the special bond that Manjari shares with Abhimanyu… The worry that Manjari has for her son, the love she has for him and so on. Manjari is very kind and nice soul, so people always tell me about that but they definitely enjoy the mother-son bond a lot,” she says.

The show is loved by the audiences also for its authenticity and the importance it gives to relationships. Agreeing, Ami adds, “I think that is what our culture is all about. It's about being together, staying close to family, friends etc. Every relationship is not only between two people but between the families. So YRKKH has always given importance to all these bonds— be it between a husband and wife, brother and sister or parents and their children, among relatives. So this is what Indian-ness is all about. Our show identifies with all these emotions and relationships strongly.”
