MUMBAI: Comedian Kapil Sharma and actor Amitabh Bachchan once pulled a practical joke on Chandan Prabhakar, who was popularized as Raju on Comedy Nights With Kapil. In order to promote their film Bhoothnath Returns, Amitabh and actor Boman Irani appeared on the show back in 2014. When Chandan offered Amitabh a cup of tea during the episode, the comedian joked that he had given up drinking tea ten or twelve years prior.

Amitabh then gets up from his seat seeming upset and walks toward the exit. Chandan will ask him where he is going. And Kapil too plays along and asks him what happened. Big B will say that he felt uncomfortable the way he was spoken to.

He underlined how crucial it is to show guests consideration. Chandan continued the prank by explaining that his persona on the show was like that. Amitabh laughed and said, "I also have character." When Kapil and Chandan apologized to Amitabh several times, the tension subsided. When Kapil finally lost control of his laughter and started laughing out of character, everyone, even Amitabh, laughed heartily. After being taken aback at first, Chandan became emotional and relieved as the prank went on, displaying a mixture of astonishment and delight at the lighthearted exchange.
