Anwar Khan and Deepak Dutta join Star Plus’ Namah

MUMBAI: Star Plus’ mythological show Namah is undergoing major changes in the storyline as well as the star cast.

According to reports, show’s producer Ved Raj decided to replace lead actor Vikkas Manaktala with Tarun Khanna to play the role of Shiva. The show earlier highlighted the bond and friendship between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. However, now, it will be based on Vishnu Puran. Moreover, the title has been changed to Namah — Lakshmi Narayan.

We also reported about lead actress Chhavi Pandey quitting the show because she did not think that she would be able to do justice to herself as an actor after the upcoming changes. She has been replaced by Maharana Pratap fame Rachana Parulkar (Read Here: Rachana Parulkar to replace Chhavi Pandey in Star Plus’ Namah).

Now, we have heard that the makers have roped in TV actors Anwar Khan, who has featured in shows like Singhasan Battisi and Udann, and Deepak Dutta, who is known for his stint in Anamika and is currently seen in Paramavatar Shri Krishna.

According to our sources, post the changes, the story will be on Dashavatar, where Anwar will depict the role of Adi Shankaracharya and Deepak will play the character of Manu, the first person to be born on earth.

We could not get through to both the actors for a comment.
