AudienceSpeak: Is KBC trying to establish an EMOTIONAL connect by tapping lower middle class participation?

KBC

MUMBAI: Kaun Banega Crorepati is a show that is loved the most currently, and to map viewership, there are more than a million people watching the show, which also includes patriarchs of the house. Sitting with the family and trying to answer before the contestants answer sounds like a fun family activity, but there is also something we have noticed while watching the seasoned show. The show taps the lower middle class family and their life problems.

There are some interesting opinions by avid viewers of the show.

Bhavna Chaturvedi, a consultant by profession, is of the opinion that they should tap all sects of the society. 'It would be interesting if we also get to see someone with no grievous problems coming on the show for the zest of testing his knowledge.'

Manohar Rathod, a businessman, said, 'I think people have an emotional connect with the problems of others, as at some point or the other, individuals themselves have gone through or are going through  such situations in life. If they are getting inspired along with acquiring the knowledge of what the show has to offer, I see it as a USP of the show.'

Another person said, 'How does it matter! I don’t think the rich or the middle class would take interest in spending time to play fastest finger first. In fact, the lower middle class would also want to meet the legendary actor along with winning the game. I think the show is good and its format too. It’s a thorough entertainer.'

What do you think – shouldn’t the makers tap the upper middle class too?
