MUMBAI: Even for people who are skeptical of love or have turbulent pasts, television sets frequently turn into romantic havens. Co-stars Alefia Kapadia and Abhinav Kapoor, who started off as friends, saw their friendship grow into love on the set of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2. They declared their romance on Instagram after dating for about a year and a half.
Abhinav said, “After a time leap in the show, Alefia and I were paired together, and that’s when I started spending a lot of time with her.” He further added, “We became very close friends but took our time before moving to the next level. I think we started connecting more deeply somewhere in the middle of the show. Everything happened organically, and it has been a beautiful journey for us since. We felt we had been together long enough and there was no reason to keep it private, so we decided to announce our relationship on Instagram.”
He further added, “It’s an easy-going and masti wala relationship with no effort required. Dating a friend is awesome because there is no pressure to impress each other. Alefia and I share a lot in common, especially our love for fitness, so we work out together. This is probably the first time I have had a female gym buddy (laughs!).”
Alefia added, “I had given up hope of finding love and settling because I felt I had too many expectations from my partner, or perhaps it’s just not meant to be. I have had a tumultuous past, but I made peace with life being good as it is. However, everything changed when Abhinav and I started shooting together. He’s someone you can’t help but laugh with and being around him is always fun.”
She further added, “Our relationship started as co-actors trying to find chemistry, then becoming good friends hanging out with the gang. Honestly, I was hesitant about dating someone from the industry. Both Abhinav and I are at a stage where we are not interested in anything frivolous; we want a serious relationship.”
Alefia concluded saying, “We have had past experiences where marriage wasn’t ideal (Abhinav’s divorce came through in 2022). So, we don’t talk about it proactively. However, the intention of growing old together is definitely there.”
