Bandini set burns down

Set No 5 in Killick Nixon, Saki Naka, Mumbai was accidentally burned down today. Killick Nixon is a former factory, which has been acquired by Balaji Telefilms and houses several sets and stages for Balaji shows. Set No 5, according to sources, was last used for some scenes of Pavitra Rishta. But before that it was used for many scenes of the then Imagine’s Bandini, which starred Ronit Roy (Dharamraj Mahiyavanshi), Aasiya Kazi (Santu), Mrunal Jain (Hiten Mahiyanvanshi), Prerna Wanvari (Kadambari Mahiyavanshi) and the late Rasika Joshi (Tarulata Mahiyavanshi). The set contained the rooms of Tarulata and DM and Santu. It was in these rooms that some of the epic scenes wherein DM learns of his love for Santu were shot. No one knows how the set caught fire. But it required more than a couple of fire engines to put it out, when it struck the sets early this morning. By the time the flames were brought under control, the set was but a tangle of metal, rods and burnt props.
