Kajal is known for her role in Star Plus' show Chikoo - Yeh Ishq Nachaye.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai took a generation leap last year with the old star cast made an exit and new actors were roped in to carry the storyline forward.
The new storyline has Samirdhii Shukla and Rohit Purohit in the lead roles.
It also has actors like Sachin Tyagi, Anita Raj, Shruti Panwar, Romiit Raaj, Sandeep Rajora, Shruti Rawat, Sikandar Kharbanda, Preeti Puri, Siddhart Vasudev, Rishabh Jaiswal, Niyati Joshi, Saloni Sandhu, Sharon Verma, and Saee Barve.
