MUMBAI: Spending all those long hours in close proximity while shooting a TV show has often resulted in co-actors falling in love with each other. Interestingly, a project that never saw the light of the day brought Yashu Dhiman and Pulkkit Sandhu together.
The two tied the knot on June 24 in the latter’s hometown, Delhi, following a courtship of four years. Yashu, who was last seen in Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, shares, “Pulkkit and I met during the mock shoot for a TV show, which got scrapped eventually. Show toh nahi ban paaya, par hum dono mil gaye. We hit it off instantly and became friends. Soon our friendship blossomed into love.”

The couple’s wedding was originally scheduled for April 27 in Delhi and all arrangements and bookings had been made. However, just five days before they were to tie the knot, the wedding had to be called off after the groom-to-be tested positive for COVID-19. The actress tells us, “It was a difficult decision, but Pulkkit’s health was our top priority. I was in my hometown, Palampur (Himachal Pradesh), while Pulkkit was recovering in Delhi.”
Once Pulkkit recovered from COVID-19, their families zeroed in on a new date without further ado. “I had grand plans for my big day. I wanted all my friends to attend the wedding. However, owing to the lockdown and restrictions, we opted for an intimate family-only affair. We got engaged a day before our wedding. But we plan to host a party for our close friends once we are back in Mumbai,” she says.
