MUMBAI: Dalljiet Kaur and estranged husband Nikhil Patel’s marriage troubles have been in the headlines lately.
Heartbreak is a wound that takes a long time to heal. In Dalljiet's case, the wound is much deeper because the businessman from Kenya denied their Hindu marriage completely, saying that it was only important culturally and not legally binding. For the unversed, Kaur had accused Patel of having an extramarital affair, following which he released a statement confirming their separation. Reportedly, under the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act of 2000, and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012, Dalljiet Kaur’s social media posts accusing her husband of an extramarital affair are legally questionable.
Dalljiet and Nikhil, prior to their marriage, had got a tattoo together on their calves which mentioned ‘Take 2’ along with the date of their marriage. It hinted at a second chance that life has given them in love.
Now, Dalljiet has taken to her social media handle to mention a long note on how she is redesigning her tattoo and has also asked for good ideas and suggestions.
In her long post, her good friends and well-wishers Sunayana Fozdar and Nisha Rawal have given her a piece of advice.
Sunayana told her that she should maintain the ‘Take 2’ and remove the date mentioned in the tattoo. While Nisha went on to tell her that she took the plunge despite her inhibitions and that requires courage. She pacified her by saying that the good thing is that the bad is now a part of her past and that she is always there for her. Nisha said that there will be many more takes to life with dignity, courage and resilience!
