Acclaimed writer cum director, Deepak Pachory has been working on the concept of the life and struggle of Chandrashekar Azad for quite sometime now. Earlier, the pilot for the show was made twice for Life OK, but it was apparently pushed to the back burner.
However, news coming in now is that the channel and maker were working on the show, making all the changes needed as per the feedback of their research program. As per sources, the major change that has come out of the research is that the show which was earlier to focus directly on the grown-up Azad, will now start with the journey of Azad as a kid.
As we know, Pachory has been the writer for many popular shows like Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann, Meri Doli Tere Angna, Sujata and many more. His company 6 Dimensions Creations Pvt. Ltd. will be producing the show.
As per reliable sources, “Work has been happening at fast pace on the show now, and the cast has been locked to play the kids. The pilot for the same will start soon.”
Another major development we at Tellychakkar.com have gotten to know is that this show based on the freedom movement will air on Star Plus now, instead of Life OK.
Above all, Bhanu Uday who was supposed to play the role of the grown-up Chandrashekar Azad will no more be part of the project.
Sharing more credible information, our source states, “Shiv Pandit, the actor and TV host has been finalized to play the title role of Azad.”
As we know, Shiv has been part of few movies in English, Hindi and Tamil. His work on TV includes F.I.R. and anchor on Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 3, Extraaa Innings T20 in 2008.
Getting into more of the cast who will be part of the pilot shoot, seasoned actor from Bollywood, Rajesh Sharma who has movies like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica, Chillar Party, Maachis, The Dirty Picture, Shuddh Desi Romance, Tannu Weds Mannu Returns, Bajrangi Bhaijaan to his credit has been cast for a pivotal role.
Our source adds, “Rajesh Sharma will be playing father to Azad. Most of the kids roped in to play the younger version of the freedom fighters are fresh faces. The role of Azad as a kid, will be played by a newbie Ishan.”
We tried calling Shiv, but could not reach out to him. Our efforts to reach out to Producer Deepak Pachory were in vain.
We could not get through to the channel spokesperson too, for details.
