MUMBAI : Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show India’s Best Dancer is creating the right buzz for its unique content and phenomenal acts by contestants who are battling amongst themselves to win the coveted trophy. These top 11 contestants, along with their choreographers are reviewed by the terrific trio on the judges’ panel – Geeta Kapur, Malaika Arora and Terence Lewis.
This weekend, India’s Best Dancer will welcome the ace dancer and mentor Dharmesh, who has carved a niche for himself in the industry. While Dharmesh thoroughly enjoyed watching all performances, he was particularly surprised by one of the acts and was left mighty impressed by this dancing duo.
Contestant Subhranil, who hails from Siliguri performed on the track "Tujhe Bhula Diya" along with his choreographer Pankaj. The judges were so happy on seeing their moves that they couldn’t stop praising their novelty factor and entertainment quotient. So much so that even Dharmesh didn’t hold back his excitement and made a special gesture for them, which surprised all the contestants and judges. After their act, Dharmesh sprinted to the stage, removed his jacket and asked for their autographs on his T-shirt for delivering a fantastic performance. Dharmesh mentioned to both Subhranil and Pankaj, “This is an amazing show. Pankaj, you choreographed the act so well. I’m glad to see Subhranil live. There were many moments in the show, but I liked the switch you made in your act.” This is one of the highest form accolade and respect for an artist, Subhranil was on top of the world. He mentioned, “I don’t follow international artists, I only follow Raghav Juyal and Dharmesh sir. For me, they mean the world.”
Later, Subhranil dedicated the song ‘Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai’ to Dharmesh and sang it live for him on stage. Walking down memory lane, Dharmesh, who has learnt a lot from Geeta, said, “I had dedicated a dance performance on this song for Geeta Ma and I never knew a moment like this would be presented to me. Subhranil is so talented. It’s a proud moment that my simple steps which I had done 10 years back, have been upgraded and incorporated in current performance.”

Reminiscing old times, a teary-eyed Geeta, who has been a mentor to Dharmesh, said, “When Dharmesh sir came as a guest on Super Dancer Chapter 3, and suddenly he went on stage and performed on the same song for me. I got emotional even then. But today maybe more, because I asked Dharmesh how he feels when people appreciate him. It’s been a wonderful journey. There was a time when he would perform, today he is sitting at the judges panel and people are performing in front of him. I can see that growth and journey. He is who he is because of what he believes in.”
To watch these beautiful moments, tune in to India’s Best Dancer every Saturday and Sunday, at 8PM only on Sony Entertainment Television!
