Most people suffer from some phobia or the other but it’s seldom that they reveal about their fears. One such person is Dilip Joshi who plays the role of ‘Jethalal in SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah . Jethalal is a character who fears dog. However, everyone on the sets was amazed when they learned that the actor fears dogs in real life too. This was made abundantly clear on the first day of the shoot just after the infamous television strike, when Disha Wakani (Dayaben) came to shoot carrying a little puppy that was barely a month old. Dilip was so frightened at the sight of this little dog that he immediately ran away from the scene and hid himself in his green room refusing to come out. What was exceptionally hilarious was that he kept peeping out just to check if the pup was still around and when he saw everyone playing with it he immediately shut himself again. No amount of coaxing brought Dilip out of his make up room that day. In the preceding days, Dilip played a prank on Disha wherein he asked a crew member to tell Disha hat she’s been nominated for the best actress award and she’s required to be well dressed as there’ll be party on the sets for the same. Disha was thrilled with this news and in all her excitement she came to the sets all decked up. But much to her dismay, she found no sign of a party. She almost broke down in embarrassment as she was the only one all dolled up and wondered who could have played such a prank on her. Just then, the entire cast and crew started clapping and cheering for her. She was quite surprised by this outburst as everyone from the producer to the director and even the spot boys, all cheered for her. In the end, they organised a party for her as she is considered the ‘most co-operative and supportive artist.’ As the evening progressed, producer Asit Modi got a phone call which gave all of them another reason to cheer! It was revealed that Dayaben (Disha) had indeed been nominated for the ‘Best Actress’ award at the ‘Indian Telly Awards’ for her outstanding performance on the show.
