The historical drama series Punyashlok Ahilya Bai has managed to win everyone's hearts ever since the beginning.

Gaurav is being lauded for his performance as Khande Rao. The actor's character in the show has seen lots of growth and the viewers are loving how his character has shaped over the time. Gaurav's career has reached new heights and he has become a household name.

Unfortunately, Gaurav’s character, Khande Rao, will soon die in the show, which means that it’s a wrap for Gaurav Amlani.

Tellychakkar got in touch with the actor where he revealed about how he feels about his character ending, his bond with Aeteshaa and much more.

How did you feel when you heard about your character coming to an end?

I heard about this a couple of months ago. I was always prepared for it because it's a fact, it's history and you can’t change it. So after we took the leap, I was slightly prepared for my role’s end. I won't say I was shocked but even after being aware about all this, when finally, the ending phase began, and I had my last shots with the characters like with Babasaheb, with the mother, with the kids and then with Ahilyabai, all of that became very emotional because it wasn't just a last scene for Khanderao, but also for Gaurav the actor.

Tell us about your bond with Aetashaa.

It's been a beautiful bond with her. I have done maximum number of scenes with her. We are very different in many ways, but despite that we have a very tight bond that we share and it was really nice to work with her. Playing husband and wife and showing that chemistry on screen is very interesting. No matter what kind of arguments or fights we had off-screen, during scenes we were purely Ahilya and Khanderao. We would never lose our characters.

What are your upcoming plans?

Honestly, there is so much to take in, so much to absorb, because the death sequence was very heavy for all of us. Even the writer told me that the scene is getting so heavy for him to write. Talking about upcoming plans, it hasn't even even been 48 hours since I gave my last shot. It's so fresh. I have just come home to spend time with my parents.
