As a servant in Hari Mirch Lal Mirch, Teju is lazy and yet innocent, straightforward, curious, witty, funny and honest. Brought up by the owner’s family in Azad Bhawan, he enjoys the freedom given by Tauji. The family is annoyed about his laziness and foolish behavior that drives everyone mad in the family. His ignorance about everything and his illogical sense makes every situation hilarious. He thinks himself to be an important part of the family and always wants to be counted in decision-making. He has no qualms about answering back to anyone at home.
In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Mukesh spoke about his stint in the show.
What made you say yes for this show?
This is a Bihar based show and it takes me to my roots. It is a comedy show and I love comedy. Therefore, it was an instant "yes!"
How did you prepare for the role?
Our director Mr. Rahul Mevawala and creative director Ajay Bhardwaj always motivates me to do something new. In fact, it is creative director’s idea to add a unique laughter and punchline. I keep observing people around me, and try to depict their real-life laughter and expressions. For example, the laughter and clap are depicted from one of my childhood friends. I do my homework by crafting and reflecting about the character and creating punchelines. I also practice reading my scripts religiously.
If there is one thing you would like to change about your character in the show, what would it be?
I don't think I would want to change anything. As our writer and creative team is already doing great work and there is no space left to change anything.
What was your first reaction when you were finalised for the show?
I was very happy to be finalized.
How do you’ll deal with creative differences on the set while shooting?
Our goals are common, that is to rock the show. Our director and creative are very flexible. We accept the difference of creativity very sportingly. We are open to new scenarios In fact, we are happy to make changes to be more creative. It is never hard to deal with creative differences while shooting.
