EXCLUSIVE! 'I want to do a Bollywood Love Story just like Shah Rukh Khan,' Samrat aka Yogendra Vikram Singh shares a slice of his life, his dreams, and more

I always wondered how an actor forays into creating that magic on screen. I so want to do such a love story as I have done some really rugged roles, I want to explore that kind of romance that happens in daily life, says Samrat aka Yogendra Vikram Singh.

Paakhi and Samrat have become among the most adored duos onscreen at present. They have not only won hearts with their performance but also made a special place in everyone's homes. Well, apart from their amazing chemistry on screen, the duo has some fun reels and pictures as well. Samrat's entry brought some massive twists to the show and his story itself gave a major viewership.

We got in touch with the dapper and asked some interesting questions in regards to his dreams and a lot about his life. Check out some noteworthy answers he gave:

What made you agree to Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin?

I like the character, it is completely different from normal characters. I adore the fact that Samrat is an Army officer. I have family members in this field so I have personally experienced that kind of lifestyle. This intrigued me and gave me no reason to disagree with the show and its character. His story with Pakhi and the whole truth of his relationship is quite challenging and makes me turn more serious about perfecting the role for the viewers.

Which character of yours has been the closest to you?

As per Samrat, I am quite similar in terms of the way Samrat lives his life, his love for his family. He is someone who is a happy-go-lucky person. I also love socializing with people who are like-minded.

I had done a play in Thespo, Prithvi Theatre, the play was known as Normal and doing that I learnt that we barely know anything about life. I related a lot to that character Peter, his journey in understanding life, awareness about living. This had been indeed a very inspiring character that I did. Apart from this, I am enjoying the character I am doing in an upcoming project (couldn't disclose).

What kind of a character would you love to do?

I want to do a complete Bollywood Commercial love story, this has been a dream for me since childhood. I want to do a film like Shah Rukh Khan's DDLJ. Being a film student I was told and taught that I should follow film stalwarts like Al Pacino, Daniel Day-Lewis, but I so want to explore films SRK did, will we ever be able to do it? Will we reach that level?

I did a show in Dubai where I met him, I was doing Dubai Broadway for two years, I had performed in Middle-East's Filmfare that time. I always wondered how an actor forays into creating that magic on screen. I so want to do such a love story as I have done some really rugged roles, I want to explore that kind of romance that happens in daily life, it may not be larger than life but extremely blissful and relatable.

My approach has always been over the realistic acting, you wouldn't find the larger than life drama. One would receive such hardcore films only, I am sure if the audience has accepted me in these characters, they shall also accept me in such romantic roles.
