MUMBAI: Every day, many shows are been launched on television which come out with a new concept or are a remake of international shows.
As we had reported earlier, Sony Tv is coming up with a new show titled Katha Ankahee, which is the remake of the Turkish serial “1000 Nights”.
The show will be produced by Sphere Origin which is the most credible and well-known production house with a massive hit record.
Some of its notable works include Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar, Balika Vadhu, Saraswatichandra, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka and Pandya Store.
The show will star the handsome hunk Adnan Khan who was last seen in ‘Ishq Subhanallah' opposite Eisha Singh and Aditi Sharma who is known for her roles in shows like Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka.
Aditi Sharma is a very well-known actor and rose to fame with Gangaa on &TV. Sharma played lawyer Gangaa Shukla alongside Vishal Vashishtha and Shakti Anand.
She co-starred with Kinshuk Mahajan, Drashti Dhami and Shakti Arora in Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka on Colors TV from 2018 to 2019. She played Dr. Mauli.
She made her film debut in 2015 in the Punjabi movie Angrej with Amrinder Gill and featured in the Bollywood film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl starring Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the actor Aditi Sharma to talk about her new show, the promo and the adaptation of the show.
This is the official adaptation of a show that has already set a benchmark, what are your feelings about it?
It is exciting for sure but it is is also challenging for us as well, because this is an official adaptation and we want to take it to another level, and I think that is the biggest challenge, setting a new benchmark.
The promo of the show has created a lot of intrigues and people are left wondering what the show is actually about and what your character is like
We wanted people to think about what the show was and create a level of intrigue, to make them think what is the show about, that's why the promo was like that. We wanted the audiences to be curious and that is what happened, everybody took their own interpretation, and I think that is what the channel wanted to achieve. Katha is today’s woman, she is relatable. She is an architect, she works, she came from a small town , she lives in Mumbai, and works very hard to make ends meet because she has a lot of responsibilities. She has a very good spirit about life, bounces back in life and has seen a lot of difficulties. She doesn't easily show her vulnerabilities to the world, which is something that she has in common with Viaan.
How nervous or excited are you for this show? Because there have been adaptations before, there will be a lot of expectations and comparisons, does that play a factor?
The fact that this an adaptation is different thing. If it was not an adaptation of an turkish drama, it is still a wonderful story and I was not sold on the point that this was an adaptation, it was the journey that they were going to take and what there life would turn out like. This is a love story which is different for sure, and that was very interesting for me.
Katha Ankahee will premier on the 5th of Decemeber on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 8:30 PM and stars Adnan Khan and Aditi Sharma in the lead roles.
