MUMBAI: Mrinal Navell is seen in Star Plus' show Yeh Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar. The actress is playing a parallel lead of Palki Mathur who is Diya and Jhanvi's sister in this popular drama series.
The show just started airing a month and a half ago and it is being loved by the viewers.
The current plot of the show is going through interesting twists in the story.
Mrinal who plays a pivotal role in the show got candid about the same in an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar.
How did you bag this role?
I came to Mumbai in July 2021. It started giving auditions online due to the Covid pandemic. I had some casting director numbers from some of my friends. I got a chance to audition for this show and I cracked it. They shortlisted me and then I gave some look tests. That's how I landed the role.
You belong to Himachal and coming to Mumbai to make your career, were you scared to take such a big step?
I wasn't that scared. I was in Delhi before Mumbai for three years for my graduation. Before that, I was in a hostel in Chandigarh. It was a bit scary in the initial days as Mumbai is quite far from my home. I had admiration and confidence to do something.
How was your journey before landing a role in this show?
It was a very planned move. I had just completed my graduation and I could have easily stayed anywhere as a student. I didn't face any financial crisis as such. My parents were there and still there to support me. I came to Mumbai on this basis. I wasn't desperate to find work to survive as my parents were there to support me. I can still take it easy, and find good work for some years before I can totally bear my own expenses.
Yeh Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar is Mrinal's debut show.
The show is a story of a girl named Diya who is humiliated for her dark complexion.
