MUMBAI: Krutika Desai, who was seen as Radhika in Star Plus' show Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2, recently bid adieu to the show. We had updated readers that Krutika is back on TV with Yeh Hai Chahatein. And now, she has been roped in for Sasural Simar Ka 2.
In an exclusive interaction with TellyChakkar, Krutika revealed interesting facts about her role and more. Read on.
Tell us about your role in Sasural Simar Ka 2.
My entry in the serial is not typical. Having said that, my character is not the type of person who creates havoc in everyone’s lives. But she will make a difference in everyone’s lives. She is demanding and righteous. More about her personality will be revealed after a few episodes. I have an off-beat role. I play Aarav’s ex-love interest, and this may cause problems for Simar.
Initially, our conversations will be understood only by us, leading to jealousy. My character’s name is Dhami Kapoor. She is Aarav and Vivaan's friend and is from the United States of America. She is of Indian origin and bubbly in nature. She has a positive approach but depending on the situation, she turns tenacious. She wants to get her partner by hook or by crook. In my career, have played a positive role only in Baal Veer. After that, most of my roles have been grey.
Dhami wants Aaru as according to her, he is an ideal man. She has dealt with a lot in the past, and he completes her.
What changes are expected in the lives of the Oswals and Narayans?
After my entry into the Oswal family, many people are shocked and wonder about Dhami and who she is. Initially, things are normal, but gradually, they come to know about Dhami’s plans.
It is like a homecoming for you with Rashmi Sharma Productions?
Yes, it is like coming home to family. Very few people remember someone for their work, so it is a nice feeling for me. In Saathiya, in the span of 1.5 years, I made a lot of entries and exits, so it is amazing to collaborate again. Earlier, things did not work, but I am very lucky that things worked out well now and I was brought on board for this unique role. It was my last day at Yeh Hai Chahatein when I got a call from RSP. It has always been my priority. Similarly, they always prioritize me, which feels.
What kind of similarities and differences do you see in Dhami Kapoor and your other roles?
This role is different from all my other roles. Dhami’s personality is quite different. To get into this role is really tough for me. Her expression is different in different scenes. I have done negative roles, but this kind of negative is different.
Any challenges faced so far? How did you overcome them?
It took me a couple of days to understand the role and Dhami's USP so that I could deliver my best. I constantly get in touch with my creatives and my directors Seema Ma’am and Yash Sir as to how to go about it. I followed their suggestions. I used to practice in the green room with all the props. I asked them whether I should take references from others, but they both showed me other ways. For this role, I read a full bunch of scripts at home so that I could show off some of the variations accordingly as per their expectations.
Tell us about your bond with the cast and crew.
Avinash and Radhika are really sweet. I have done a lot of mock shoots with Avinash. We know each other as Saathiya and Simar’s sets are in the same campus. But yes, talking and working is different. The bond was quite natural outdoors and full of positive vibes. But indoors, I did not speak with the rest of the cast because I was fasting for Navratri. I spoke with Jayati Ma'am. Moreover, Avinash's parents complimented me for my work. The rest of the cast such as Shubhanshi and Karan are good to be with.
Any message for your fans?
First of all, I am grateful for their love and support throughout my journey. They loved me even though I played a negative role. Please do not imitate any of my negative actions.
