MUMBAI : Yash Tonk is one of the most popular actors in the TV world. He has been a part of a lot of iconic shows. He landed the character of Harveer Singh Sodhi in the Sony TV drama Just Mohabbat in 1996, giving him his TV debut.
From 1996 through 2000, Sony TV broadcasted the show. Then, in the year 2000, Yash took on the role of Abhishek Aggarwal in the Star Plus television series Kundali.
He portrayed Shiv Singhania in another Ekta Kapoor-produced series, Kyun Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, in the same year, 2000. It was broadcast on Star Plus.
He has demonstrated his acting abilities in numerous movies and TV shows. With his wife Gauri Yadav, Yash Tonk took part in Nach Baliye Season 2 in 2006 and made it to the finals as well.
Currently, the actor is seen in the show Swaran Ghar.
Tellychakkar got in touch with the actor where he revealed his favourite role, co-star and much more.
What is your favourite cuisine?
I like different types of daal.
Which is your favourite that you’ve played till date?
I can’t choose one but the role I played in Kaahin Kisii Roz.
What’s your favourite lie that you always tell?
I just lied earlier.
What’s your favourite pick-up line?
Please trust me.
What’s your favourite moment from your struggling days that you feel was necessary for you?
I think I should’ve let go of myself in my struggling days. I was very stiff, like this is right and that is wrong. When I let things go, it has helped me a lot.
What’s the favourite time from your personal life that you feel is extremely special?
The birth of both of my daughters. I mean it was magical.
What’s a favourite moment from the fans that have left quite an impression on you?
Once I was coming back from the shoot. I had a flat tire so I was getting it fixed. I saw a big bus standing and I just started to wonder why this bus is standing here like this. The driver inside was waving at me. He said “Shamsher Singh Waghela”. I was just doing a show called ‘Roop’ and he loved it.
Who is your favourite co-star?
My wife, Gauri.
What would be your favourite role that you’ve not played but would love to play?
I love 2 roles. One is the character that Dilip Kumar played in the film Devdas and the other is the character that Sunil Dutt played in the film Mother India. I love both the roles.
If you are put in a time machine, which film set would you want to be at?
I think I would like to go back to the era of Yousuf saab (Dilip Kumar). I would love to be there and watch him because he’s so brilliant.
