MUMBAI: TellyChakkar was the first to break the news about Colors’ Thapki Pyar Ki 2 coming to an end. The show, which returned with its second season on 4 October 2021, will air its last episode on 3 April (2022).
The show's female lead Jigyasa Singh had quit the show because of some health issues. Jigyasa has been replaced by Prachi Bansal.
TellyChakkar got in touch with the male lead of Thapki Pyar Ki, Aakash Ahuja, who spoke about the show going off air, Jigyasa’s sudden exit, and more.
The show didn't run for a long time. What's your take on this?
“I'm not disheartened at all. If the story isn't going somewhere, there's no point in stretching it just for the sake of it. I believe that we had a good run. I got to do some really well-written scenes, and I'm satisfied with them.”

Do you think that Jigyasa leaving the show was the reason behind the wrap up?
“I can't deny the fact that her exit was one of the reasons why the show is wrapping up. She was the protagonist in the first season as well, and her performance was really good, so her leaving the show did impact the overall plot.”
There's a trend of remakes and sequels, but they're not working like the original shows. Your take on this?
“There's no point in making the same show again if the story is not fresh. And our show was completely different from the original one. I think we were on the top for 100+ episodes, so I'm completely satisfied with that.”
How will the show end?
“It will be wrapped up in around a week. It will end on a happy note, and all the loose ends will be tied up.”
Good luck, Akash!
