From Hum Log to Hum Ladkiyan…

From Hum Log to Hum Ladkiyan, from Badki to Dadi , it's been twenty five long years. But nothing really seem to have changed for veteran television and theatre actress Seema Bhargava who will now be seen in the show Hum Ladkiyan as dadi to a young bunch of bubbly girls. Best remembered as Badki in Hum Log , the popular series which had every middle class household addicted to the show is back with a bang. Even after so many years of Hum Log going off air, Seema is referred by her famous character name Badki. She says, "Even after Hum Log went off air, for 5 years I was Badki to people around me. Many people thought I actually ran a sanstha and there would be girls coming to me for help. I have helped a lot of girls, married them to better families without dowry and also sent some girls to where they would be taken good care of. Badki was the most beautiful character I ever got to be on and off screen". Ask her if she finds any similarity between Hum Log and Hum Ladkiyan . She quips, "I think there is no change in the subject. Hum Log highlighted the problems of a middle class family, which is also seen in Hum Ladkiyan . I can relate to the girls of Hum Ladkiyan to the characters in Hum Log . From then till now, the concern of parents getting their daughters married in good families hasn't changed. As far as my character is concerned, I have of course got promoted from Badki to Dadi in Hum Ladkiyan ." We hope Hum Ladkiyan turns out to be as popular as Hum Log!
