Arhaan Behll, who will now anchor adventure show Fear Factor on new channel RTL Big Thrill, finally comes clean regarding his absence from Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2.
He dubs media reports of creative differences with the producers (Spellbound Productions and Walkwater Media Ltd) of his above hit Star Plus show as reason for not doing its sequel as mere rumours. “It is just that I did not want to play the same character again as doing that would kill the novelty of season 1,” he quips.
“As soon as season 1 ended, there was chatter that they would come back with season 2. And soon they approached me to play Krishna again, I politely declined the offer stating that I wish to move on and do something different. They were very understanding and courteous about the same. I am on good terms with all of them and hope that season 2 does well,” he adds to explain the sequence of events that happened.
Elaborating on the format of Fear Factor, earlier popularized by Akshay Kumar on Colors, he observes,“ It is the dubbed Hindi version of the same show’s international series made in US, UK and Russia. My entry comes before a episode where I talk about the stunts and contestants. Later, when the episode is midway I keep on coming and pass my comment on what is going on and at the end I declare the name of the winner.”
Arhaan also does not think that his rustic character in Pratigya played an important role in him being selected for this show that appeals more to men. “I don’t think so, for if you would have noticed that over the last three years, Krishan matured more into a family man and was neither a brash and nor a goon anymore,” he adds.
Looking ahead, Arhaan is open to doing challenging roles across all creative mediums be it TV or films. “I am also game to taking part in reality shows,” he quips. What would he tell his fans who want him back in Pratigya 2, “Well, they need to understand that I have already given three years of my life to this project and to give any more time would be unfair to me.”
Does he feel that that the season 1 of Pratigya ended at the right time? “I feel that we could have gone on for 5/6 months more but then the makers and the channel know better and whatever happens, happens for the good,” he ends..
