MUMBAI: Actor Zaan Khan is going to be seen as Randheer Raizada in the new television show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. The period drama is set in Lahore of the 1940s ,Zaan has changed his look for the role and even grown a moustache to get that retro look. The show is getting launched on the eve of Republic Day and Zaan shares his emotions on patriotism. “When I got to know that my new show is getting launched during Republic Day Eve, I was so happy. Our show is set in the pre-independence era. We have been to Amritsar for our shoot at Wagah border, Jaliywanwala Bagh and Atari. I used to get goosebumps while visiting these historical places. The amount of sacrifice our freedom fighters have given is truly unforgettable. We are independent and enjoying every moment of our life because of their sacrifice. My grandfather was also a freedom fighter and I remember since my childhood I have listened to so many stories that somehow it’s embedded in my memory now. When I was shooting in Amritsar I have also met many local people there and when I got to know the sacrifices related to fighting against British government I was speechless. Sometimes we take freedom for granted. We should value that.”
Speaking about patriotism, Zaan says,” Patriotism to me means that the love for my country is pure. Wherever you go, if you see the tricolour flying high, you should feel proud. I want the love and passion for my country to be intact till the last breath of my life and I would love to do something big for my country.”
