I will be a princess soon - Sparsh Khanchandani

Sparsh Khanchandani
Twelve-year-old Sparsh Khanchandani who brilliantly essays the role of Raashi on Sony TV’s Parvarrish - Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi (DJ’s Creative Unit) has a sensible head on her shoulders. Her hobby is acting. She pursued her heart’s desire and impressed you with her stellar performances in Uttaran and Parvarrish. She however knows that studies come first. She had pre-decided that she wouldn’t act anymore after Class 8. Sparsh who is now in Class 8 says, “From Class 9 onwards, I will not act ever again in my life. After all, I am simply satiated with acting.” Reflecting on her acting career she says, “The TV industry has given me a big name. I have even gone on to act in the film Meena: Half The Sky directed by Hollywood actress Lucy Liu.” She is determined to realise her dream to be an IAS officer. She says with great maturity, “I just can’t see India succumbing to repeated terrorist attacks. As an IAS officer I want to prove that there are honest government officers. I also want to make our country terrorist free. I want to try to eradicate poverty. I will encourage the education of the girl child.” She is currently thoroughly enjoying playing the sensible and mature Raashi on Parvarrish though. She says, “Raashi is tomboyish like me. I like the fact that she is bubbly, rough and tough and likes to take challenges with older big boys and girls knowing well that she will not win.” When this small wonder isn’t acting or studying, she plays badminton, does underwater swimming and reads general knowledge and patriotism books. She elaborates, “I don’t like to read fairy tales, Barbie books and other girly books. I find the book Transforming India to Transform Indians very inspirational. Also I just can’t float on water, it is always underwater swimming for me.”] Whereas most kids are excited to step into their teens as they consider teenage as a phase when they can have fun and be rebellious, Sparsh is unfazed by her imminent teenage. Her wise words on teenage are, “The teenage is just a phase when there is great mental and physical growth. One must tread through the phase carefully without getting carried away. Teenagers must concentrate on their studies and mould themselves to be good citizens of their country. I am looking forward to having a simple teenage life.” Sparsh’s dream is to be a princess. She informs us, “I will be a princess soon. I will not tell you how though. Just wait and watch.” Regarding her fan feedback she says, “I get lots of fan mail through Facebook. They praise me for slipping into the roles of both Raashi and Ichcha very convincingly despite both being very different roles.” Sparsh is very close to both her parents. Her father Purshottam Khanchandani is an advocate in the Mumbai High Court and her mother Sarita is an educationist who owns coaching classes. Sarita is like a friend to her. Her mom laughs, “As we both have the same shoe size, I treat my daughter as my best buddy.” Her father tells her in jest, “I am your first boyfriend.” Both father and daughter often have a merry time laughing and joking. We wish this starlet, all the best in her life ahead.
