Impressed with the character of Iltutmish: Sooraj Thapar

Actor Sooraj Thapar is all set with his new show on &TV Razia Sultan (Swastik Productions), where he will be essaying the role of Iltutmish, the founder of Delhi Sultanate dynasty.

When we spoke to the actor he got all chatty with us and mentioned, “I was looking out for some new and good show. And when I got the opportunity to be part of Razia, I opted for it as the role is very different.”

“As an actor I was very much impressed with the character. Iltutmish was a daring ruler, who challenged the existing norm of the society and made her daughter the next ruler. So, when I heard about the character I found it very interesting,” added Sooraj.

When we asked the actor about preparing for his role, he said, “I don’t know how I have performed but I have tried my best to essay the role properly.”

We quizzed him about whether the show will be able have an impact on the society or not. And Sooraj replied, “As an actor I won’t say that this show will be a game changer or something but definitely the step as he took was a very bold one as a ruler and I hope that this will be able to have some social impact at least.”

The actor also candidly mentioned that in his heavy costume and looks as the Delhi Sultanate ruler he feels that he directly coming out of a history book.
