MUMBAI: Television actors often receive appreciation from the audiences and critics for their performance, as they are the faces of the show.
However, it takes an array of people who work behind the lens in order to make the projects a mega hit. From spot boys and light men to make-up artists and stylists, every department is equally responsible for the success of every show. In order to facilitate these unsung heros, IndianTelevision.com brings to you the 15th edition of our annual Indian Telly Technical Trade and Programming Awards, which recognize the best in television production, editing, writing, direction, distribution, and creation.
One of the integral parts of television shows is the direction team. A director guides actors and brings out their best performances. It is the director who gives that extra edge and sparkle to the scenes that audience goes gaga about.
Director Partho Mitra, who has worked in shows like Mere Angne Mein and Grihasti, is one of the finest in the business. Talking about his role, Partho said, ‘I think a director needs to primarily be an editor, because no matter what, even if a director does a good job, it is the editor who has the power to ruin it and vice versa. No matter what role you play on sets, the first and most important thing is that every single person needs to understand the show first and then take the next step.’
Giving some more insight about direction, Partho added, ‘As a director, my job is to make my actors comfortable and make them understand the feel of every character.’
Kudos to you, Partho!
