“It’s going to be a grand ‘virtual’ family affair this Karwa Chauth,” reveals Kundali Bhagya’s Ruhi Chaturvedi

MUMBAI: As we stepped into the new normal with the lockdown rules relaxing across the country, Zee TV resumed the shoots of its popular shows and reconnected its audiences with the journeys of their beloved characters. Kundali Bhagya, which has been the top-most show of the Indian Television industry for a couple of years now, also offered a rather interesting twist to its viewers after its comeback. The wedding drama in Karan (Dheeraj Dhoopar) and Preeta’s (Shraddha Arya) lives kept the audience on the edge of their seats over the past few weeks and now Mahira’s (Swati Kapoor) suicide attempt has given the storyline a rather interesting turn. Viewers are now excited to see till what extent will Mahira and Sherlyn (Ruhi Chaturvedi) go to separate #PreeRan?

Off screen, all the stars including Ruhi are ecstatic about the festivities that are just around the corner. The lockdown certainly changed a lot of things in everyone’s personal and professional lives, but being such a culturally diverse country, no one can take away the excitement of people during these upcoming festivals. With umpteen amount of zest and energy, Ruhi Chaturvedi, who got married in 2019, is all set to celebrate her first Karwa Chauth with husband Shivendraa Saainiyol this year. While a few of her plans have altered, she is still elated about her first Karwa Chauth and she suggests it will be a traditional family affair.

Sharing her excitement, Ruhi Chaturvedi who plays the role of Sherlyn in Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya said, “We originally had plans to go to Jaipur, since Shivendra’s parents live there, but due to the pandemic we thought it would be better for us to stay in Mumbai and celebrate at my mom’s house. We have a tradition where the ‘katha’ is recited in the evening after the sunset and all the rituals are performed after that, so we will do it all at my house in Mumbai. We will also connect with his family over a video call, so Karwa Chauth will be a grand ‘virtual’ family affair. I am really excited about my first Karwa Chauth, but at the same time, I am nervous too because I have a habit of drinking a lot of water throughout the day. But that won’t be possible this time around. However, I am sure I'll manage. I am so elated that I have already decided my outfit for Karwa Chauth, it will be a red saree that Shivendra gifted me post marriage and I feel it is best suited for this special occasion. Even though we get dressed on the Kundali Bhagya set every day, this will be a very different and special experience for me, wearing all red and celebrating out beautiful relationship on such a special day.”

Ruhi further added, “Shivendra has also decided to pray with me this time and has also planned something special so that I get distracted from the hunger. It is a really sweet gesture from his side. Both of us will be eating home cooked meal prepared by my mom since it’s healthy and safe to eat at home during the pandemic.”

While Ruhi gets ready to celebrate her first Karwa Chauth with Shivendra, wait and watch how Sherlyn plays some interesting games with Karan and Preeta and creates more havoc in their lives.
