Jaya Bhattacharya replaces Shalini Arora in Colors’ Madhubala

A lot is happening in Colors’ Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (Nautanki Films). Post the exit of the second lead Gunjan Utreja (AK) and a flurry of other actors, the track has now opened up leading to romance between Vivian Dsena (RK) and Drashti Dhami (Madhu), something which the viewers have always wanted to experience. Now comes the news that actress Shailini Arora (Balika Vadhu) has been replaced by veteran actress Jaya Bhattacharya (currently seen in Sony TV’s Maharana Pratap). Commitment and dates issues are said to be the probable cause of the replacement, as per sources. When contacted Jaya, she shared, “Yes, I am doing Madhubala and I have already started shooting. I have replaced Shalini in the show. I am playing Raju’s (Vivian Dsena) aunt Baiji and Ravi Khanvillkar’s wife. As Raju doesn’t have his mother I will take care of him and love him like his own son. My character will have both the shades of positive and negative. I am happy to be a part of the show and I hope my new role will impress viewers.” We tried calling Shalini but she remained unavailable to comment. Jaya’s entry will happen in tonight’s episode.
